Green Giant Frozen Veggies Review and Giveaway

With the 40th anniversary of Earth Day right around the corner on April 22nd, you may have begun to think of the little changes that you and your family can make to help protect the Earth this year.

For Green Giant, it’s all about trying to live up to the name by working every day to care for the land, the people who grow our vegetables and the families who share our vegetables at their tables. Throughout its century-long history, Green Giant has worked to reduce its environmental footprint through many measures including:

* Reducing the amount of land and water needed to grow vegetables

* Packing vegetables in smaller, lighter cans, so it takes less fuel to deliver them to supermarket shelves

* Utilizing traditional seed breeding methods over the last 35 years to double the amount of sweet corn grown on an acre of land

* Teaming up with growers to install a more efficient irrigation system that can reduce water use by more than a million gallons a year;

* Switching to more earth-friendly paperboard to package frozen vegetables, saving approximately 54,000 trees annually in the process.

Green Giant is now celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day by giving $200,000 to The Nature Conservancy to help fund an innovative project that will encourage greener farming practices to repair and protect a natural treasure — the Root River, one of Minnesota’s (home to Green Giant) best trout streams.

To learn more about Green Giant’s sustainability program or make a donation to The Nature Conservancy, visit http://www.GreenGiant.com/sustainability during the month of April.

Recently, My Blog Spark and Green Giant gave me a chance to try out their frozen vegatables. As a working mom who tries to her family eating healthy, fresh veggies aren't always the best choice because they always seem to go bad before I can get them used. So, the next best thing are frozen veggies. Green Giant's frozen vegatables are wonderfully yummy! If you didn't see me cooking them, you would've never known they were frozen! I love them! There's no waste and the family eats right!

Click here to save $0.50 (or $1 if your store doubles) on Green Giant's frozen vegetables!

My Blog Spark and Green Giant have been nice enough to offer one of my lucky readers a Seeds of Change prize pack which includes: one VIP coupon valid for a free package of Green Giant frozen vegetables, in addition to a mini herb garden, an eco-friendly bamboo utensil set, and a 100% recyclable grocery tote! Spring Cleaning with Seventh Generation Review and Giveaway

Spring cleaning season is right around the corner. This year while you’re freshening up your home and sorting through the clutter, why not toss the toxic cleaning supplies, too?

Replacing what’s currently under your sink with products that are non-toxic and safe for the environment is easier than ever with Seventh Generation’s environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Leading the “responsible cleaning” charge for the past twenty years, Seventh Generation has tapped into the disinfecting power of the herb thyme, to introduce an EPA registered line of disinfecting sprays and wipes that kill germs* naturally! The new line of botanical disinfectant cleaners includes a multi-surface cleaning spray, bathroom cleaning spray and wipes.

The disinfectants contain thymol, a component of the herb thyme, and can be used on hard surfaces including counter tops, plastic cutting boards, highchair trays as well as children’s toys. Best of all, they kill over 99.99 percent of germs* naturally and are effective against the Influenza A Virus, including H1N1.

Seventh Generation has partnered with eco-lifestyle consultant and author, Alexandra Zissu, whose new book, The Conscious Kitchen, discusses what’s good for your health, what’s good for the planet and what tastes great. Her book also includes great tips on maintaining a green and healthy kitchen! (Great Reading!)

My Blog Spark and Seventh Generation recently offered me a chance to try out several of their products and I must say, I'm impressed. I know lots of people who feel "natural" cleaning products skim on the cleaning ingredients. With Seventh Generation, that's surely not the case! Whether I'm using the all purpose spray cleaner, the bathroom spray cleaner, or the disinfecting wipes, I find I get an awesome clean every time!

With a small child in the house, plus my two dogs I feel great knowing there's no harsh chemicals being used that could make them sick!

So check out your local store and protect planet home with Seventh Generation products!

My Blog Spark and Seventh Generation are offering one of my readers a chance to win a "Disinfecting Cleaning Kit" which includes: a disinfecting multi-surface cleaner, bathroom cleaner, wipes , a copy of The Conscious Kitchen, a cleaning caddy made from recycled plastic, and two rolls of 100% recycled, unbleached paper towels.
Want to win? Here's how:

* Check out Seventh Generation's website and tell me which product you think you'd like the most

April Showers Bring Batman Powers

Surprisingly enough down here in Georgia we have had sooo much rain! I think finally for once we won't be in a drought! Just before we all floated away, my son got to try out this new awesome Batman Rain Gear from Nordstrom!

Boy was Brody excited when he saw the huge box with the Batman logo on it. It's funny how kids recognize logos. Brody immediately knew what it was. Batman! He flung into box and had to take everything out.

Talk about super cute! Brody was transformed into a super hero with the hooded rain slicker featuring a removable cape. He LOOOOOVED it. Once he put it on, he was swooping everywhere! It was just the coolest thing! Did I mention glow in the dark logos? Oh yes, that definitely sealed the deal for him. Of course the set wouldn't be complete without the matching Batman boots and umbrella!

While this set is super cute, I definitely appreciated the durability. Batman is timeless and this set will be one you'll be able to pass down!

Let your child unleash the super hero within with the new Batman rain wear collection! You can find the Batman themed collection of rain wear by Washington Shoe Company at Nordstom.com. Each piece is priced at: $36.95 for the boots (5-13 and youth 1-4) , $16 for the umbrella and $50 for the raincoat (2T-6X).
