Great Publix Deals with Coupons!

Publix had a couple of things of interest this week.

4 - Country Crock Tubs of Butter. On sale BOGO for $1.89. $0.50 printable coupon doubles to $1. 2 of these coupons make the 2 free. If you have more than one computer in the house you can print 2 more like I did. You can freeze these to use at a later date!

6 - Mueller's Wheat Spaghetti Noodles. On sale BOGO $1.29. Printable (no limit) $0.55 off coupons makes them $0.09 each.

2 - Star Kist Tuna Packets - Printable coupon for $0.50 doubled makes these $0.34 ea.

2 - 3 lb Bags of Wonka Variety Candy. On sale BOGO $8.99. 2 of these $2 off printable coupons makes them $2.50 each.

1 - Box Minute Rice (free coupon was gained from a Facebook promo from Minute Rice)

8 - Ears of Fresh Corn. On sale 8 for $2.

2 - Publix soda. $0.79 each

1 - Bunch of bananas (Not really a great price at $0.68 a lb but we needed some.)

1 - Amoxicillin for DS. Free!

I only spent $10.84 for everything.

I was especially pleased with the Halloween candy. I seriously cannot believe how insanely priced that candy is these days. You wouldn't catch me spending $9 on candy. However, for 3 lbs I was pleased to pay $2.50.

How 'bout that? And I wasn't even looking!

It's amazing what you'll find when you're not even looking for it. I had to make a trip to fill a prescription for my husband at Publix. You know...because of the free antibiotics they offer (read post here). Anyways, I had about a 15 minute wait plus my son was with me so I figured I'd just zoom him around the store in one of those car buggies. I didn't really need anything so I hadn't checked the sale paper for the week. But, while zooming, I ended up finding some great deals along with coupons that we can always use! So here's what I got:

4 Boxes of Apple Jacks (BOGO $3.99) That made them $2.00 a box. I found a coupon dispenser that was giving away $1 off 1 box of Apple Jacks. So I got 4. Brought it down to $1.00 a box

2 Boxes Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix (BOGO $2.19) So about $1.10 a box

2 Jars Peter Pan Peanut Butter (BOGO $2.47) That made them $1.24 a jar. There was a coupon dispenser there too giving away a coupon for $1 off 2 Peter Pan Jars so I took 1 for the 2 jars. That brought the price down to $0.74 each.

I then of course, got my husband's antibiotic for free too.

So, what was the total spent? $7.64.

Not too shaby.

Free Antibiotics at Publix

Publix has been offering free antibiotics for a while now but it was surprising to me how many people weren't aware of it. So, I thought I might let everyone who didn't know, know and remind those who did. The nasty cold weather is upon us and so is the chance of illness. So, regardless of what health plan you have (if any) you can get the following antibiotics for free from a Publix pharmacy:

* Amoxicillin
* Cephalexin (capsules and suspension only)
* Sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim (SMZ-TMP)
* Ciprofloxacin (excluding Ciprofloxacin XR)
* Penicillin VK
* Ampicillin
* Erythromycin Stearate and Ethylsuccinate
* Doxycycline Hyclate (capsules)

Just another way to save money! My husband actually needed to fill a prescription today and thank goodness he stopped to call. He was on his way to CVS and I said "WAIT! What is it for?!" Sure enough, it was on the list and Publix is only a mile from the house! So the next time you have to go to the pharmacy for a antibiotic, make sure you check the list and see if it's free!

Seriously McDonald's....

Sorry to sound like a broken record here folks...but it happened again! Now, I guess I'm a glutton for punishment so I guess this is partially my fault. Friday night I had to work late and then go pick up Brody from school. It was just me and him since dad was out of town on a hunting trip. I didn't feel like doing much so I decided to take on that McDonald's location again . If you didn't read my previous post about them, you can read it here . Anyways, so I ordered Brody a Happy Meal and I ordered the Angus Swiss Mushroom burger. Brody's came out fine but they told me I had to wait for mine and to pull up. I waited about 5 minutes before they brought my meal out to my car. Everything was there so I drove home. Once I got home, I fixed my plate and took a bite. It tasted kinda funny so when I looked at the burger....it was pink. I tore the burger in half and this is what it looked like:

(sorry for the bad quality cell phone pic)

I know right? Well I was livid. I finally snapped. I got up Brody and we wasted the gas to drive back to the store. McDonald's told me if I ever had problems again to talk to a manager. Oh yes, that manager was going to hear it. So I get there and I'm walking from my car inside. The manager is following me in from what I can only assume was a smoke break outside. I had my bag and receipt in my hand yet she didn't stop me or talk to me. I spoke to the cashier and told them my dilemma. He then went back where I'd seen the manager walk to. I heard the cashier say "....but she's really mad" but that's all I could make out. The cashier came back and told me the manager was busy. However, the cashier took it upon himself to apologize, replace my meal, and slipped me a free extra value meal coupon. Why was that the cashier's responsibility? Why wouldn't the manager talk to me about a real issue. I got a freakin' raw burger. What would've happened if I had gotten sick? Are lawsuits the only way to get things resolved these days?

Corporate McDonald's told me they take all complaints seriously. Due to the fact that they are a franchise business they were going to pass along my complaint to the store owner. I'm not convienced that they're taking this seriously. I mean, this does tarnish the name regardless if it's a franchise or not. I'm not holding my breath. This is my second encounter with corporate McDonald's and nothing has been resolved yet.

McDonald's I took this from your website:

We place the customer experience at the core of all we do
Our customers are the reason for our existence. We demonstrate our appreciation by providing them with high quality food and superior service, in a clean, welcoming environment, at a great value. Our goal is QSC&V for each and every customer, each and every time.

Um....not quite feeling that.

Boba Organic Baby / Toddler Carrier Review

I want all of my readers to feel just as special as I do! My readers will be the first to read a review on the highly anticipated Boba Organic Baby / Toddler Carrier! I wanna thank the folks over at NAP, Inc. for allowing me to do so! This new Boba carrier rocks!

The Boba Organic Carrier is a soft structured baby carrier which provides comfort and health benefits that no other child carrier presently on the market offers. The “Boba” name stands for ‘Boulder Baby’. This term was inspired by all of the babies you see worn around Boulder, Colorado where NAP, Inc. is located. The new Boba Carrier is the first backpack carrier for children to feature patent-pending foot straps allowing the child’s legs to be held at a natural 90-degree angle. When the child is seated in this flexed abducted position (legs apart, knees bent) and facing towards the carrying adult, their hips and pelvis naturally align to support and take pressure off of the spine which means increased support and increased comfort for the baby or toddler. This means a happy rider and no squirming! It is built to be used for either carrying on the front or on the back. This wonderful carrier is made in the USA and it is designed for babies and toddlers ages 1 to 4 years old and it comes in six different earth-inspired colors!

Additional Boba benefits for babies, toddlers and parents include:

* The most affordable organic and locally made soft structured baby carrier available on the market.
* Eco-friendly – shell and batting made with GOTS and OE100 certified organic cotton and lined with 100% organic Texas cotton. No pesticides or herbicides are used – ever.
* Extremely easy to wear and use with the option of carrying the child on the adult’s front or back. Parents can be ready to go in just minutes.
* Strong enough to carry a child weighing 15 to 45 lbs.
* Lightweight for adults – Boba weighs less than 2 lbs.
* Eliminates the feeling of wearing an expedition backpack - no poles or metal parts. The soft Boba is compact, adjustable, gently form fitting, and is 15” tall x 16” wide.
* Super secure waist belt comes with a triple lock military grade buckle to ensure child is safe at all times.
* Completely adjustable and easily fits moms and dads of all shapes and sizes.
* Available in six sophisticated, earth-inspired color choices that will match any outfit.

Did you read that last paragraph? Toddlers up to 4 years old! Now I'm sure you're reading this saying "why would I want to carry a 4 year old on my back?" Well, if your child is anything like mine he's very headstrong. Most weekends, we frequent the flea market with his grandfather. It is an outdoor flea market so the rugged terrain is not suitable for strollers. It always happens this way....once we get there, Brody wants to walk. Walking is great, I love it when he can walk like a big boy. Well, once we get a couple of aisles down, I start hearing, "carry me". Now, walking rugged terrain carrying a 35 lb toddler on your hip is no fun. That's why I was stoked to hear about this carrier!

I was sent a Boba in the pine green color. It was too cute and gender neutral! I was very impressed with the craftsmanship and high quality materials that were used. The design of the Boba is great as well. I loved the fact it wasn't a big to do to use it. When carrying my son, I felt great! His weight was placed evenly so I didn't feel like I was going to fall backwards! I was able to walk a long distance with no problem. With the carrier only weighing under 2 lbs it really felt like nothing at all. It's size allows for easy storage and transport. I now keep mine in the back of my car just in case!

The Boba was VERY easy to use. You just slide the straps over your shoulders like backpack, adjust the straps to fit you, and buckle the waist strap. Then to put baby in you just slip one shoulder strap off, slide baby in, slip the shoulder strap back on, put baby's feet in the straps and you're ready to go. Easy peasy! There is no learning curve!

The Boba can be used in just about any situation. Whether you're at the park, shopping, walking around the neighborhood, or anywhere where it's difficult to get a stroller to. The Boba really is great! I would recommend it to everyone! With such a long life span to use with your child (1 - 4 years) plus being made of great quality materials, you will definitely get your money's worth out of the Boba Carrier!

Boba is available for $99.00. Visit http://www.bobacarrier.com to purchase online or to find out more information regarding retail availability nationwide
