Sun Detergent Review

I was recently sent a bottle of Sun laundry detergent from MomSelect. Simply put, it worked great! I am not brand loyal by any means so when I go shopping, I usually get whatever I can find free or very close to it. Of course when using coupons, that's usually on the most popular brands.

Sun is a lower cost detergent. They don't have a bunch of frills or a large marketing campaign like some of the others but the detergent packs a mean punch! Sun works just as well as any of the others at a fraction of the cost! I mean, compare a $3 bottle of Sun to a $6 bottle of Tide. There is no difference except the price! My clothes came out clean and they smelled great to boot! Sun even makes an HE formula for your HE washers!

If you haven't gotten on the coupon boat yet, you obviously need to be buying at a lower cost. Of course quality shouldn't suffer because you're spending less. That why I would reccomend Sun detergent. It's your caviar on a hot dog budget!

Bed in A Bag on Sale at Kmart...Great Price

I saw that this week, Kmart has total bed in a bags (includes sheets) on sale for only $34.99. If you're in need of a new bedding set, this is the deal to jump on! They are 180 thread count, but for the price, I think that's great. I even took advantage of the deal and purchased this set:

These sets would also be great for your guest bedrooms as well. Look nice at half the price! Remember, you can use Ebates to get cash back on your online purchases! Kmart offers 2% back!

CVS on A $10 Budget (8/17/09)

Here's Juanita from The Frugalicious Mommy with her CVS deals on a $10 budget:

Today I went to both CVS and Wags. I just bought a few things
at Wags. I love the Soft Soap Body Wash so I had to get a couple.
I looked at my ad for CVS over and over and I could have sworn
the Earphones said limit of two. (I need to get a eye exam soon, I've put it off way too long and this proves it to me) Anyhow, the nice young man I'll call him D (I don't want him to get in trouble) gave me my ECB despite the fact I had already purchased one. I didn't realize it until he told me to look at my receipt.

Yesterday I took advantage of the Krogers Double Day. It was great, although I got there a little late about 7AM and a lot of things were out of stock. My total after both Kroger trips was $276 and my OOP was $53.65-my rebates $14.98 (for the Kelloggs and Tornados)= a Final Cost of $38.67. Let us know how you did........

Last week, I was privileged enough to attended a “Get Organized for Back-to-School” webcast with Office Max and Peter Walsh. Talk about fab-u-lus! I absolutely love Peter Walsh. He's funny and he has great organization ideas. I've worked with Office Max and Peter Walsh before (see review here) yet his tips and thoughts on getting and staying organized never cease to amaze me. The Wheels on The Bus....

Choosing toys for my child is not an easy task but ebeanstalk has great baby toys and toys for 1 year olds and up. They are dedicated to selecting great educational learning toys. The toy they sent us is the “Activity Bus” from Plan Toys, who makes eco-friendly wooden toys. Here are my thoughts about it.

My son was very excited when it came. He has this thing about school buses. I'm not 100% sure what it is but he loves them. Anyways, he practically tore the box apart to get everything. It was quite entertaining to say the least.

The "Activity Bus" was the first real wooden toy he's ever had so it was something different for him to play with. He loved interacting with all the different pieces. You could even hear him making noises for the kids playing and such. When he discovered that the bus would actually open up he loved that even more. Now, the toys could have a place to play rather than floating in space. I for sure thought after the first day he'd be done with it. You know how that goes. The excitement wears off and there's nothing else you can do with it. I was surprised when my son wanted to pull it out again and again and again.

I really do love the uniqueness of the Activity Bus. Not only has it given my son hours of play, it's also very eco-friendly (which is a tremendous plus). I really haven't seen anything like it before. It actually triggers your child to use their imagination which I think is great. Oh and I should mention that you can store the extra pieces in the Activity Bus. I love that! No more stepping barefoot on small pieces!

The Activity Bus has held up very well to the destructive creature I call my son. He will play with it just sitting on the floor with the other pieces. He also loves to run it around the kitchen floor. But his new favorite game is crashing the bus into things. He hasn't figured out the definition of "Be Careful!" just yet so the toys at our house really get put to the test.

I would definitely recommend the Activity Bus! You can find it on Amazon. Plan Toys has a great selection of toys for ages up to 7 years old.

SmartKnitKids Seamless Socks Review

I recently had an opportunity to review SmartKnitKids' seamless socks. SmartKnitKIDS' patented seamless socks are a great choice for children who experience sensory processing differences, hypersensitivity or who simply can’t stand annoying seams. My son falls into the "can't stand annoying seams" category. He is very particular with things and socks are no different. It really is enough to drive mommy and daddy crazy. Now with SmartKnitKids' seamless socks, there's no longer any fighting over how his socks should fit.

SmartKnitKids' seamless socks are super soft! They don't wrinkle or bunch. They are also proven to reduce irritation to children's sensitive feet. I really do love these socks. Not only are they just that soft, they also stay in place. Which means, my son is happy and I'm happy because I'm not finding random socks all over the house. It really was my son's signature to be walking around with no shoes on and only one sock on. Once he comes home from school, the shoes come off. Then walking around in sock feet made his old socks bunch up. Well, if it started to feel weird, the sock came off where ever he was. It was usually only one sock that was a problem though...so he'd just always be wearing one sock. That problem is now solved. My son can now walk around in sock feet and the socks stay put. Thank goodness for SmartKnitKids!

You know what else I love about SmartKnitKids' seamless socks? These socks are made with high-tech fibers that wick moisture away helping ensure a drier and more hygienic sock environment. They are also anti-microbial, inhibiting fungal odor-causing bacteria. Hello?! How cool is that?! Especially the odor part! If you have little boys, they always come back to you after playing smelling something funky. Now, at least you know it's not their feet!

The SmartKnitKids seamless socks are 6.95 a pair. The unique "no heel" design allows children to put on socks with confidence and keeps their feet from outgrowing their socks so quickly. So this is a definite plus! The no heel design and the craftsmanship of these socks ensure a long lasting pair. Having that said, I feel like the price is right in line.

I would definitely recommend SmartKnitKids' seamless socks! Check out SmartKnitKids' website today!

Bumkins Art Smock Review And Giveaway

Whenever we are at home, my son and I do a lot of activities. Whether it's doing some type of craft or cooking something sweet he's always making a mess. While I've come to terms that messes are going to happen, it does not make it any easier to clean up. I was so stoked to find out about Bumkins' Art Smock.

We were offered the chance to review the art smock from Bumkins for their Back 2 School Blog Tour. During this special promotion Bumkins will be giving away 5, $35.00, gift certificates! Bumkins will choose the five winners beginning Monday August 10th, giving away one gift certificate each day that week. There are 51 different mom blogs that are participating. To enter their giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment on their Bumkins blog or any of the 51 participating moms blog, including this one. You must leave a comment post that features a review on Bumkins.
So let me tell you more about this fabulous art smock! My son and I both loved it! We received the art smock in the Pet Parade print. My son loved all the puppies! I loved the art smock because it kept him clean! I also loved how it really is a multi-use product. He could wear it painting, helping me cook, or eating! We all know how easy it is to get flour everywhere while baking and he's no exception. Also, in regards to eating....he hasn't 100% mastered getting everything into his mouth so the art smock really helped out!

The Bumkins Art Smock:

  • Made of Bumkins' proprietary waterproof fabric
  • Stain and odor resistant
  • Tie closure
  • Features catch-all pocket
  • Machine washable, hang dry
  • Measures 16" across chest, 17" from neck down, 40" cuff to cuff
  • Sized to fit 2 - 5 years
  • PVC, BPA, Phthalate & Vinyl Free
So as you can see, the Bumkins Art Smock is a great pick! It has held up quite well in our use too!
