Yoplait Thick and Creamy Yogurt & Stationary Giveaway

My Blog Spark provided a chance for me to try out Yoplait's Thick and Creamy Yogurt. Now, I am funny about what kind of yogurts I eat. I may be weird, but for some reason certain yogurts kick up my gag reflex. It's not usually because they taste bad, I guess it's just the texture. Anyways, I had no problem with Yoplait Thick and Creamy. It was exactly as promised, Thick and Creamy.

I tried out the Royal Raspberry flavor courtesy of the coupon I received. It was quite yummy! The thickness actually helped me feel more full as well. Of course I was stoked about that! Actually, the yogurt was so thick that it made it very easy for my son to feed himself without making a tremendous mess. (Another great plus!)

Yoplait Thick and Creamy comes in the following flavors: Banana, Blueberries 'n Cream, Supreme Lemon, Peaches 'n Cream, Royal Raspberry, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Key Lime Pie, Orange Crème, Crème Caramel, Blackberry Harvest, Vanilla! You are sure to find something that suits your taste!

Let me tell you what else I received. It was only the cutest Galison stationary set which also included note cards, sticky notes, and a Yoplait pen! It really was super cute!

I wanted to thank My Blog Spark and Yoplait for being able to give TWO of my lucky readers this stationary gift set along with a coupon to try out Yoplait Thick and Creamy!

Smooshies Review

Recently, I received a Smooshie and two extra sets of parts from One2One Network to review. "What is a Smooshie?" you ask. I compare it to a Mr. Potato Head. The concept is the same where you get all the parts to stick on however there are obvious differences. One being that the Smooshie is totally plush and the other is that it's a little alien monster. The Smooshie is quite cute.

My son had a ball playing with it. He liked changing up the different pieces and limbs. He would then go around the house with it making roaring noises. My husband nor I could escape his little monster's rath. The poor dogs couldn't either. Oh, and I should mention that the Smooshie is very soft. On multiple occasions, I found my son sleeping with his.

I feel that the Smooshie is a great way for your child to express their creativity. However, your child might become a tad bit frustrated. All of the pieces are attached by velcro. This includes all the arms, legs, and horns as well. The tabs these pieces velcroed to were not big enough thus not gaining enough grip. The arms and legs were falling off. On the other side though, all of the facial features gripped fine because of the large surface area. Also, I would've loved a built in pocket to keep all the extra pieces in. Right now, the Smooshie lives in a Ziplock bag with his pieces just to make sure they all stay together. Of course these are not huge issues. I mean, limbs and storage aside, we really did like the Smooshie. My son could not get enough.

Smooshies are a great toy that are very affordable. The Smooshies start at $5.99 and additional parts are $1.99. You can find these at JoAnn.

Smooshies has won the “Best Vacation Children’s Products” award from Dr. Toy and the “Top Toy of the Year Award” from Creative Child Magazine

The Sleepy Wrap Review

The Sleepy Wrap is one of the best carriers I've seen. Unlike any other baby carrier on the market, the Sleepy Wrap is designed to provide a comfortable, natural, womb-like way to carry your little one.

The generous people over at Sleepy Wrap sent me one to check out. I was kind of surprised at first because as soon as I opened the packaging I noticed that the Sleepy Wrap was a long piece of fabric which you actually wrap around yourself & then put your baby inside, against your body. I panicked. I am not one who's good at following directions. It's sad, I know. My husband just happened to walk in to the living room while I was putting on the fabric with the instruction booklet in hand. He actually laughed at me y'all! Talk about support right? Anyways, I was actually surprised how easy it was to do. I got it done up and it looked just like it was suppose to!

Speaking of the instruction booklet...it was very convenient! It showed step by step with pictures how to put on the wrap. It also shows several different variations on how you could carry your baby with it. The Sleepy Wrap comes with a matching carrying bag so I always make sure that the instruction booklet is packed in too.

The Sleepy Wrap's fabric is very strong, stretchy, and super soft. It shows quality as the edges are nicely hemmed. That means you can use this wrap over and over again without the edges coming undone or curled up! It was actually quite comfortable as well. It allow the weight to be distributed properly. Also, there were no hard plastic pieces sticking me like some do.

You will love the Sleepy Wrap because you will be able to carry baby and do just about anything! Whether it's laundry, dishes, or shopping, you will be able to enjoy bonding with your child without losing time to get stuff done! I sincerely recommend trying the Sleepy Wrap!

Also, I don't know if you knew this but....carried babies:

  • Cry Less! (43% less overall and 54% less during the evening hours)
  • Are Healthier! (gain weight faster, have better motor skills, coordination, increased muscle tone, and sense of balance)
  • Get a better view of the world! (babies pushed in strollers or lugged around in car seats only get to see the adult world at knee-level)
  • Become Independent Faster! (making them more confident and less clingy)3
  • Sleep Better! (they fall asleep quicker and sleep for longer periods of time)
  • Learn More! (not overstimulated, but calm and alert, observing the world around them)
  • And are just plain Happier!

So as you can see, it is a significant plus to carry your baby and the Sleepy Wrap provides an easy, effective, comfortable way to do that! Sleepy Wrap has been generous enough to give my readers a 10% discount for y'all to get this wonderful carrier! Just use promo code "copperbrickroad" during the checkout process at http://www.sleepywrap.com/ (discount is valid until 8/20/09).

Right Size Review and Giveaway (closed)

I know as a mom the conquering of my weight has always been an issue. My pregnancy with DS caused me to gain 50 pounds! Yeah, well, needless to say I wasn't proud of that. It's been three years since then. Even though I lost a majority of the weight, I don't feel like or look like I did prior. I've tried to make lifestyle changes but as hectic as our lives are, it doesn't last long.

Recently, I got a chance to review Right Size's products! Right Size provides weight loss products such as smoothies, weight loss water, and supplements. I have to admit I was skeptical. It seems as though there are so many weight loss companies who make bogus claims. You know, they claim you'll lose X amount of weight in a short period of time. Sadly, you never really know it's false until you've spent the money. We all want a quick fix but unfortunately it doesn't exist. Well, I take that back. There is a quick fix and it usually requires a plastic surgeon. I loved how Right Size, at no time, made any bogus claims. If you check out their new website, you'll see all claims are actually testimonials from real people.

The Right Size smoothies are very yummy! These were a significant improvement over others I've tried in the past. Seriously, these taste like a treat! You'd never even know you were trying to lose weight! The Right Size smoothies contain Appemine which is a appetite suppressant. During my review I'd noticed that if I had a smoothie for breakfast I'd be set until lunch. While blending I'd leave some bits of ice in my smoothie so I could have something to "chew". I don't know about y'all but I guess it's a mental thing that I have to feel like I'm actually eating something. Regardless, I felt full.

The smoothies are easy to make. You simply just mix the Right Size smoothie powered mix with your favorite juice or milk and ice. That's it. If you don't have the time for that, Right Size also has ready made smoothies as well. So there's definite convenience!

Right Size's smoothies are affordable at only about $1.83 per "meal"! If you buy the mix by the case, that brings the price per "meal" down to only $1.29! So, if you're looking into weight loss products, Right Size is definitely worth looking at!

In addition to the smoothies, Slimminade tastes good too! These are the flavor packets for water to help your weight loss. As a person who finds it hard to get their water in....these are great! The flavor packet comes in a lemonade flavor and it contains Appemine, fiber, Omega 3, and vitamins. So again, while you're drinking your water you're conquering hunger as well!

I loved the Right Size product line. With great taste and convenience that fits into my busy life, there's nothing better I could ask for. I simply just replace two of my meals with it and that's it! Right Size definitely does make it easier for me to put my best foot forward in the weight loss struggle!

The whole Right Size line is great and affordable! They are also the online line to contain Appemine! You should definitely give them a look! Check out their new website: www.rightsizeonline.com !

The great people over at Right Size wants one of my lucky readers to win a Right Size gift set! A $130 Value! (US Residents only) The set includes:

Chex Mix Bar Review & Giveaway

I was excited that My Blog Spark gave me the opportunity to sample some Chex Mix bars in the Turtle flavor. I was surprised on how yummy these were. Usually I'm quite skeptical when it comes to caramel. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this. Usually, some companies make it too sweet while others just don't let it taste good at all. These Turtle Chex Mix bars have it just right!

These wonderful Chex Mix Bars combine crunchy Chex pieces, pretzels, and peanuts with chewy and indulgent caramel and chocolate. The salty sweet taste was something unique but nothing less than satisfying. I loved how these bars make a great in between meal snack! I was quite surprised to find out that these bars have less than 150 calories per bar and provide at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving! So you can enjoy a treat without feeling like you're going to tip the scale!

Chex Mix bars are actually quite affordable as well. Oh and I should mention there's currently a printable coupon to get $0.60 off 1 box. So now's the time to try them out!

Simple Ways to Save Money on Your Air Conditioning

Down here in Georgia, it is hot as all get out! It really does feel like you have to run the a/c non stop. However, with the way things are, it's just not feasible to live like Eskimos. I wanted to share with you some ways that you can cut back on your a/c usage.

1. Try hard not to use your dryer. Line dry if possible. If it's not an option, wait until later on in the evening to use the dryer. You know the dryer really does heat up the house and causes your a/c to work harder. Drying outside will save you the power of running the dryer on top of keeping your house cooler

2. If you have a fireplace, make sure that the flue is closed. Yup, that precious cold air can escape

3. Use CFL light bulbs. Yes light bulbs do create heat. CFLs create less heat PLUS they cost less to power so you're saving even more on your power bill

4. Keep appliances away from the thermostat. This goes for winter and summer. Heat from appliances will cause the a/c to work harder if the thermostat is getting the illusion that the house is hotter.

5. Try not to use your oven or use it sparingly. Try crock pot meals, grilling outside, a toaster oven or your microwave. Less heat is produced this way.

6. Install a programmable thermostat. We love ours! I purchased it at Home Depot for $30. I have more than made my money back. We program it to turn the a/c off at 12am after we're asleep and it stays off until 5pm. The house will start cooling down prior to us coming home from work.

7. Use ceiling fans. These can significantly help reduced the heat by circulating the cold air.

8. Get yearly maintenance and change the filter regularly. An "un-healthy" a/c unit will rob you blind. Make sure you take care of it to ensure it runs effienctly and catch problems before they become huge problems

9. If you're not in a room, make sure the blinds and curtains (if applicable) are closed. Sunlight can bring heat as well.

10. If you have spare rooms you don't ever use, close the vents. That way the unit isn't working as hard to cool more square footage.

11. While you're at it, use power strips. Plug all of your grouped appliances into power strips and turn the strip off when not in use. That way your not wasting phantom power.

When we are home, the temperature is 78. With the ceiling fans and lack of using heat producing appliances it is more than comfortable. Hopefully these tips can help you preserve your a/c system and save money on your power bill as well! Please feel free to share anything else you do!

Log Cabin Pancake Syrup Review & Giveaway

We go through so much pancake syrup at our house it isn't even funny! Both my husband and my son over saturate their pancakes with it. I often find myself concerned about how much they consume. Especially my son. With all the high fructose corn syrup I just know it can't be good for him. But how can you take the syrup away from them when it's their favorite weekend ritual?

Let me introduce you to Log Cabin Syrup. You've probably heard of them but if you haven't, they have has been making authentic, maple tasting syrup for over 120 years. Since 1887, Log Cabin has been a tradition for many families. What you may not have known, is that now, they have made their syrup better tasting and better for you. How? you ask. By simply removing high fructose corn syrup and replacing it with real sugar. Wow, you really can have your pancake and eat it too!

Wanna know more about sugar vs. corn syrup?? Click HERE!

After replacing our old syrup, I received rave reviews from my husband and my son on how great the syrup tasted. Now I can feel better about my son to eating his pancakes!

You can find Log Cabin syrup at your local grocery store. In addition to the new Log Cabin syrup you can also find the original formula, their lite flavor, and their sugar free syrup.

Frecklebox Personalized Gifts Review & Giveaway

I absolutely love Frecklebox. They have such great gift ideas and great customer service to boot! Frecklebox offers some of the cutest personalized gifts for your child. They offer personalized items such as books, lunchboxes, stickers and so much more! You're sure to find something for your child!

I was offered a chance to review a personalized book for my son. When looking over the website to give the information needed for the book, I was pleasantly surprised of the proofing abilities. You are able to see exactly what you're ordering personalized before you order it. I love that! No surprises! I decided to pick out the When I Grow Up book because it included things that my son is so intrigued by. Just like any little boy, he loves police officers and firemen. When I reviewed my proof I was thrilled to see this:

Aside from the fact that the narration includes "Brody" saying this and "Brody saying that, if you notice the firefighter's back it says "Sprouse". Oh I just knew he was going to love that. Looking even further I noticed another aspect he was going to love:

Here, if you notice the door panel says "SGT SPROUSE Bethlehem Police Department".

I loved it! Seriously, could you think of a better way of making your child feel special than including them in a story. Especially when it draws a picture of them being what they love the most at this point? This particular book also includes being a vet, a doctor, a teacher, owning a zoo, and being a pilot. It really is super cute.

Of course, the real test was with my son. Once I received the book we sat down and read it. My son can't read yet. However, he knows what his name looks like. He LOVED hearing his name over and over again in the story. Oh but let me tell you the best part. Once he saw his name in the pictures that excitement was priceless. This book has become part of our nightly routine. Every time he sees a page with his name on it, he points and says "Dats Bwody". It is too cute!

I was tremendously satisfied in the quality of this book. I know that it will become a keepsake that he can look back on when he's older. In the beginning of the book there is also a dedication page you can personalize so we put "To our little Brody love Mommy and Daddy". I really think everything comes together nicely.

Frecklebox personalized gifts make a great gift for any occasion. The best part, the gifts are not at all expensive. Especially considering they are personalized. I would definitely recommend you check them out!
