Dear McDonald's....
Dear McDonald's,
I am seriously upset with the service from this location. While this McDonald's was being built, my family and I were looking forward to having one so close (within a mile of the house). I would be able to pick up dinner and bring it home still hot. However, since this McDonald's has become operational it has only been a disappointment. Not one time have I ever been that my order was 100% right. Usually though, I'm able to catch it before I leave (i.e something missing like fries). However on 9/19 my 3 year old son was sick so I thought a treat would make him feel better. So I sent my husband to get dinner including a Happy Meal for my son. Well my husband informed me that it took 3 tries to get our entire order from the window. Of course what he was able to get from the window with no problem was a bunch of attitude. When he got home my son realized that the Sprite that came with the Happy Meal was a water and came with a girl's toy rather than a boy's as requested. There was nothing "happy" about his meal. Obviously, it wasn't worth the gas to return it but that made me throw in the towel with McDonald's. In the current times we live in, not only is value important but customer service is too. I thought that was the grounds that McDonald's was founded on? I don't think I will be coming back to McDonald's and I will be sharing my experience with neighbors and on my blog www.copperbrickroad.com . I would suggest though, that changes be made for other customers.
Thank you,
Rebecca Sprouse
I tried emailing McDonald's via their form on their website but I keep getting this error:
We regret to inform you that an error has occured while processing your request. The Contact Us team has been notified of your error and will look into a resolution.
Is it too much to ask for good service?
Feel free to share your thoughts/experiences! I'd love to read them!

I'm gald that you posted this, I have the same problem with our McDonald's! It sucks when you get home and realize that you are missing one of the kids burgers , or that they got some wrong! I hope they see this !
I hardly get fast food but when I do I want it to be right! The last time I ordered one of the new mushroom swiss burgers and took the girls to the park, when I opened my burger it didn't have the mushrooms or swiss! Like you, I didn't want to waste the gas to take my burger back since it was clear across town. I'm sure their website has an error because there are sooooo many complaints!
I recently sent an email to McDonalds as well. We took my son there for a first day of Kindergarten lunch, and not only were they out of the current toy, they were giving out a Star Wars toy that had been issued last summer...that he already had. Again, not a particularly "happy" meal.
They said they'd pass it on to the local franchisee...Two weeks ago. Obviously they think it's a lame problem. With all the marketing they do for their toys, they should have the current one...Or at least one from this year!
Yikes! I've had similar experience with the Mc'D's here.
Ive been tempted to write a similar letter and include the following:
PS. PLEASE sanitize your play systems inside. My kids continue to find other kids fries...GROSS!
PPS. Offering cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets with apples, isnt healthy for kids either. Why not offer Mac&Cheese to go like BK, or sammich's (ham and cheese on wheat) like most other fast foods places?
Thanks lady, GREAT blog today!
OMG this sounds EXACTLY like one we used to go to near our old house! Want to know the best way to piss them off? When the lady asks at the drive through if we can please pull up and they will bring it out to us, we say no :) They can't FORCE you to pull up and if I have to pull up and wait how is that FAST FOOD?
Good for you Becca!
I have had this happen a few times too. I usually call the local location, ask to speak to a manager and tell them politely how upset I am and that I am not wasting my gas to drive back there to begin with so what can they do for me. Usually the manager will offer to send out a coupon for a free meal of choice.
p.s. Since they are franchises the corporate office usually pass it along. I work for a large company that sells salon products and when people get bad service in a salon they always call us. I know it's frustrating we can't help you but we don't own the salon so we can log your complaints but resolution has to come from the salon owner. They get the revenue from the service, they need to correct it.
Its the plight of the fast food drive-thru! Totally ridiculous! I think one out of every 10 times we get food through a drive thru do they EVER get it right without us having to walk back in and straighten it out. Look if I wanted to WALK in to the place... I would have done that in the first place.
Then if you DO mess up my order... at least offer me some reparations in the form of a free cookie or something. Geez.
Last night, for example, the Fazoli's drive thru. I am slightly addicted to the Tortellini Robusto (no sausage). Its on the 2 can dine for $9.99!!! So I order two of them, one with sausage for the hubby and one without for me. And of course extra bread sticks (because you have to PAY for those through the drive up- why ... don't even get me started). I pull up and they don't give me the drinks (2 cokes), when they DO its someone ELSE's - which is a LArge diet- I can see it marked on the top- and then they hand me a bag with 14 bread sticks and ONE black to go entree. Well my entree is baked so it should be in a pin tin like container with a clear lid. I eat this all the time and I know what the stupid thing looks like. I tell the person handing this to me that it is not right and she ARGUES with me that it IS! Then is SO put off by the fact that she got MY order wrong she gets a manager... who realizes I am right. Freakin really??? Can you not read the screen?
